Individuals

Individual counseling offers a safe place for you to share, reflect, and process through your thoughts and feelings in a confidential environment.  Individual counseling is a joint process, between you and your therapist, where it can help you work through and overcome obstacles to your overall well-being.  Together with your therapist, you will come up with goals to reduce the current challenges you are facing, increase positive feelings and beliefs, such as compassion and self-acceptance, learn new skills, and make healthy decisions.  Through the therapy process, my clients have discovered and grown to become more self-aware in their healing journey.

Couples

We feel more isolated today than ever before.  Fifty percent of marriages end in divorce.  Communication problems, anger, dependency, jealousy, painful pasts, adultery, and uncertainty about a relationship’s future are just a few of the things that can cause serious relationship issues.  Also, now more than ever before, people are finding that they feel completely alone, even while living in large cities such as in the Bay Area.  The problem of isolation gets even worse when we work long hours, have moved several times, or when our social support system has left us.  Couples counseling offers a safe place for you both to patiently work through the challenges, to find solutions to overcome the difficulties, and ultimately, to strengthen the bond in your relationship.

Groups and Workshops

Outside the counseling work in my practice, I provide classes and workshops for local Schools, Churches, Parenting Groups, Parents and Children, and Mother’s (MOPS) Groups.  Topics have ranged from Active Listening techniques between teens and parents, Healthy Child Development, Self-care for clergy and pastors, Self-care for Mothers, Nurturing our Marriage Relationships after the Baby comes, and Perinatal and Postnatal Depression and Anxiety.
