A state of fear, unrest, dread or worry

Anxiety can be aroused by a number of factors: one’s external situations, such as viewing the news or a fast paced lifestyle, one’s physical well-being, such as lack of sleep or blood sugar levels and the experience of trauma, which are situations that have caused significant pain or distress.  Counseling focused on managing anxiety can be successful to reduce the stress, restlessness, excessive worry, racing thoughts, hypervigilance, and irritability experienced on a regular basis.
